Akademiks Fires Back at Meek Mill: 'They Love Me More in Jamaica Than They Love You in Philly'

The Meek Mill and DJ Akademiks feud just got another chapter. Akademiks clapped back on X Wednesday afternoon after Meek questioned his Jamaican roots, writing that "they love me more in Jamaica more than they love you in Philly" and accusing the Philly rapper of turning into "a fan page" trying to get his attention.

It started with a livestream clip. Per Baller Alert, Akademiks was recorded mocking Islam during his escalating feud with Sneako, who converted in 2023. Meek reacted by urging people to take Akademiks "out your algorithm," and then went after his background, posting, "Can we verify Akademiks is from Spanish town because he don't promote any Jamaican artist music?" Meek added that he has family in Spanish Town.

Meek's post also revived the backlash over Akademiks' January 2025 livestream exchange with a 15-year-old, which Akademiks later apologized for. Meek called it "grooming," a characterization that has not been established in any legal finding. Akademiks has long said publicly he was born in Spanish Town, and there is no verified evidence that says otherwise.

The two have been going back and forth since around 2017, with flare-ups in 2020, 2024 and again in September after Lil Durk's acquittal. As of Wednesday evening, Meek had not posted a reply to the latest jab on X.
